Finance Assistant Job Description
In the 2018 midterms, Jason Crow beat 5-term Republican incumbent Mike Coffman by 11%, winning a seat that no Democrat had ever held since its creation. Colorado’s 6th congressional district is considered to be the state’s only swing district and is a targeted race for both Republicans and Democrats.
Working with the Finance Director and the finance team, you will gain experience with political fundraising, learn how to prospect and develop relationships with donors, and open doors to future opportunities on campaigns, in DC, and in the nonprofit sector.
The Finance Assistant is responsible for supporting the finance team’s effort to execute a successful fundraising plan for Rep. Crow’s reelection campaign. The tasks will include but are not limited to:
Prospect/discover potential new donors to roll into our call time program
Help manage CO call time, including preparation before, staffing during, and review afterwards
Help facilitate CO events, including advancing the event to set up, staffing JC during the event, and processing all donations after the event
Help with donor prospecting and research, expand the candidate’s donor networks
Other administrative tasks as needed
Previous political experience is required, and fundraising experience is preferred
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Google Suite, experience with NGP and ActBlue preferred
Willingness to work flexible hours with some travel
Reliable transportation or familiarity with local public transportation
Ability to relocate to the Denver metro area
$3,500 per month
