We are in search of a talented campaign manager to oversee a legislative effort to pass an accessible, affordable, and adequate statewide paid family and medical leave insurance program. The campaign manager will work closely with the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Coalition Steering Committee to implement the strategic plan and ensure campaign principles, communications processes, and core values are upheld. Day to day activities include managing consultants, coordinating activity between FAMLI Coalition committees, and serving as a point person for coalition members, stakeholders, and others to get the most up-to-date information about the campaign.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience in Colorado working in issue advocacy or political organizing, experience managing staff or consultants, and is passionate about building support for a robust paid family and medical leave program in Colorado. Experience integrating research, data and best practices into a winning campaign strategy is important. Having a commitment to racial, social, and economic justice and a willingness to use this perspective in the context of the campaign is a must, as is experience with implementing grassroots strategies. Familiarity with the issue of paid family and medical leave in Colorado or elsewhere in the country is a plus, but not a requirement to apply.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record working with diverse communities and partners and empowering them in the decision-making process. They are a self-starter, highly organized, and have great communication skills. The campaign manager should have the ability to manage many competing priorities, projects and needs through prioritization, transparency, and communication, while anticipating problems and proactively develop solutions. They must work well with a broad range of coalition partners and keep calm under tight deadlines and stress.
This is a full-time, temporary position from mid February 2020 to mid June 2020. The pay range for this position is $20,000-$30,000 commensurate with experience.
